Most property insurance does not afford coverage for flood damage. Our agency participates in the National Flood Insurance Program and our licensed agents can sell you a policy which is administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). You are not afforded immediate coverage on a flood policy. The normal effective date is 30 days from the date you purchase the policy, so advance planning and purchase is very important.
